Skills dev authority partners with Buet, Ruet, 2 other univs for industry-academia linkage
Various short courses, workplace-oriented training, and awareness activities will be offered to students

The National Skill Development Authority (NSDA) under the Office of the Chief Adviser have signed four more memoranda of understanding (MoUs) with various universities aimed at enhancing the professional and technical skills of students, strengthening industry-academia linkages, and creating skilled human resources.
The MoUs were signed between NSDA, Buet, Ruet, National University and Bangladesh Open University at the NSDA conference room in the capital's Agargaon today, according to a press release.
NSDA Executive Chairman, Secretary Nasreen Afroz, Buet Vice Chancellor Prof Abu Borhan Mohammad Badruzzaman, Ruet Dean of Applied Science and Humanities (ASE) Prof Md Abdul Kader Zilani, NU VC Prof ASM Amanullah and BOU VC Prof ABM Obaidul Islam signed the agreements on behalf of their respective institutions.
Chief Adviser's Principal Secretary M Siraj Uddin Mia was present as the chief guest with NSDA Executive Chairman (Secretary) Nasreen Afroz in the chair.
Under the MoUs, various short courses, professional courses, workplace-oriented skill training, and awareness activities on skills will be offered to students.
In addition, national and international job market surveys and sector-wise human resource needs reviews will be conducted. Also, initiatives will be taken to develop the skills required for employment.
Chief guest M Siraj Uddin Mia stressed the need to implement the "three-zero" theory of the chief adviser.
He also highlighted the importance of training university students to address the challenges of the 4th Industrial Revolution.
Previously, on 4 June 2024, NSDA signed two separate MoUs with Dhaka University and Jahangirnagar University.
