BUET teachers’ body elects new executive committee for 2026
Professor Dr Muhammad Anisuzzaman Talukder of the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering has been elected President, while Professor Dr Mohidus Samad Khan of the Department of Chemical Engineering has been elected General Secretary of the Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) Teachers' Association Executive Committee for 2026.
The announcement was made through an official notice issued by the Chief Election Commissioner for the 2026 Executive Committee Election, Professor Dr Md Masud Karim. The new committee will assume office in January 2026.
For the upcoming term, Professor Dr Khondoker Farid Uddin Ahmed of the Department of Mathematics has been elected Vice President. Professor Dr Md Iqbal Hossain of the Department of Chemical Engineering will serve as Treasurer, while Professor Dr A. B. M. Toufique Hasan of the Department of Mechanical Engineering has been elected Joint Secretary.
Dr Laboni Afroze, Assistant Professor in the Department of Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering, has been elected Literature and Cultural Secretary. Md Mahin Mobarrat, Lecturer in the Department of Water Resources Engineering, will serve as Hospitality Secretary.
The elected members of the committee include Dr Nazmul Islam, Associate Professor in the Department of Humanities; Professor Dr Mohammad Faisal of the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering; and Professor Dr Md Monirul Alam Sarkar of the Department of Mathematics.
