Twelve children died from measles and measles-like symptoms between 8am yesterday and 8am today (15 May), according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

Among them, 111 cases were laboratory-confirmed as measles.
So far this year, at least 74 children have died from confirmed measles infections in Bangladesh, while another 377 children have died with symptoms consistent with the disease.
Data from the DGHS shows that 7,416 measles cases were confirmed through laboratory testing between 15 March and 15 May.
According to the latest health bulletin, 55,611 suspected measles cases have been identified nationwide, of which 36,055 patients have already been discharged after treatment.
