MGI and BUET inaugurate renovated RISE seminar room at BUET
Meghna Group of Industries (MGI), in collaboration with the Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET), formally inaugurated the newly renovated "RISE Seminar Room" at the RISE Centre of BUET on 24 January, 2026.
The initiative reflects the continued commitment of both organisations to strengthening industry–academia collaboration through research, innovation and knowledge sharing.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by Vice-Chancellor of BUET Professor Dr Abu Borhan Mohammad Badruzzaman as the chief guest. MGI Director Tanjima Mostafa was present as the special guest. Director of RISE Professor Mohammad Shariful Islam, MGI Executive Director (UCIL) Mohammed Khurshed Alam, Chief Sales Officer Sanjib Kumar Saha and Senior General Manager (Brand) Kazi Md Mohiuddin were also present at the event, alongside deans, directors, heads of departments and faculty members of BUET, as well as officials from MGI.

The RISE Seminar Room has been renovated as part of the ongoing collaboration between MGI and BUET to facilitate idea exchange, research and development, and innovation. The facility is expected to provide aspiring engineers with opportunities to engage with industry insights, emerging technologies and applied research.
Earlier, MGI's Building Materials Division completed a joint research project with RISE on rapid hardening cement. The successful collaboration has encouraged MGI to pursue further joint research and innovation initiatives with BUET in the future.
