Police are yet to nab the three accused who allegedly attempted to rape a 19-year-old college student at Sadar upazila in Noakhali on Thursday night, after forcibly stripping her naked, and taking her nude photos.

Although the victim filed a case on Saturday over the incident, mentioning the names of the three accused, police are yet to arrest them.

Talking to The Business Standard on Sunday, the victim and her family alleged that the accused are constantly threatening them in various ways to withdraw the case.

According to the case statement, around 8pm on Thursday, the girl was talking to a male classmate in front of her house at Kadirhanif Union in Noakhali Sadar. None was in the house at that time.

The three accused – Pulak Majumder, Akbar Hossain and Raihan Uddin – came there and started dragging the girl, a second year student of Noakhali Government University College.

It has been alleged in the case statement that after taking the two inside the house, the accused forcibly stripped her naked, and took her nude photos.

Later, the youths attempted to rape her threatening to spread her naked video. At the same time, the classmate of the victim was also beaten severely. The miscreants took his nude photos also.

The victim told TBS, "At one stage, I started screaming. Hearing my scream, people who were passing by the house came to rescue me."

The accused, however, managed to flee the scene after the people came.

Later, on Saturday night, the victim filed a case as plaintiff with Sudharam Model Police Station under the Women and Child Abuse Prevention Act, against Pulak, Akbar and Raihan.

According to the victim's family, after the incident, Pulak Majumdar's elder brother Sujan Majumder came to their house at around 12pm and offered to marry the victim off to the accused Pulak. Since then, the accused have been threatening to kill the student and her family members.

Officer-in-charge (OC) of Sudharam Model Police Station Mohammad Shahed Uddin said, "We are conducting raids to arrest the three accused in the case filed by the student. Meanwhile, after receiving news that Raihan, the third accused in the case, is trying to flee the country, we are trying to arrest him with the help of the immigration police."
