Bogura man sentenced to death for raping daughter in 2020
According to the case details, Abdul Khalek raped his daughter on 21 October 2020.
A Bogura court has sentenced a man to death for raping his daughter back in 2020.
Bogura Women and Children Repression Prevention Tribunal Judge Maruf Hossain also fined convict Abdul Khalek, 51, a resident of Bagara Basti area in Sherpur Upazila, Tk2 lakh while delivering the verdict around 10:30am today (20 August).
Khalek was present in court when the verdict was announced, said Ali Asgar, public prosecutor of the tribunal.

According to the case details, Khalek raped his daughter around 4:30am on 21 October 2020. At the time, the girl's stepmother had gone to a local rice mill.
He then threatened the girl with death if she told anyone about the incident. Later, the girl told her stepmother about the incident.
However, the stepmother did not believe her and instead subjected the girl to further abuse. The girl later told two of her classmates about the incident to escape the abuse.
The matter came to light through the classmates, after which locals informed the police.
On 31 October 2020, the girl's mother, who is Khalek's second wife, filed a case against him at Sherpur Police Station.
Public Prosecutor Asgar said the court sentenced the sole accused to death after reviewing the evidence and testimony presented by the prosecution.
