Court sends Faisal's close aide Kabir to jail in Hadi murder case

A Dhaka court today (28 December) sent Kabir Hossain, a close aide to Faisal Karim Masud, the prime accused in the case filed over the murder of Inqilab Mancha spokesperson Sharif Osman Hadi, to jail.
Dhaka Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Jashita Islam passed the order as police produced Kabir before the court after completion of his two rounds of remand and prayed to keep him behind bars till completion of the investigation.

On 20 December, the court ordered the inclusion of Section 302 (murder) of the Penal Code in the case, which was initially filed as an attempted murder, following the death of Sharif Osman Hadi on 18 December.
Sharif Osman Hadi, an independent parliamentary candidate for Dhaka-8 and spokesperson of Inqilab Mancha, was shot on 12 December in the capital's Bijoynagar Box Culvert area.
According to the case statement, two assailants riding a motorcycle opened fire on Hadi while he was travelling in a battery-run rickshaw and then fled the scene.
The platform's Member Secretary Abdullah Al Zaber filed the case with Paltan Model Police Station on 14 December.
