4 Indians killed in attack on cargo ship leaving Ukraine's Odesa port
One Indian national remains in critical condition following the attack on the commercial vessel carrying 17 crew members.
At least four Indian nationals were killed and another critically injured after a commercial cargo ship came under attack while departing Ukraine's Odesa port on the evening of 19 July, India's Ministry of External Affairs said yesterday (20 July).
In a statement, the ministry said there were 17 crew members on board the vessel, including five Indian nationals, at the time of the attack.
"As per information available, four Indian nationals have tragically lost their lives while one is hospitalised in a critical condition," the ministry said.

The Ministry of External Affairs said India's diplomatic mission in Ukraine is closely monitoring the situation and is making every effort to provide assistance to those affected.
India also condemned the attack, stressing that commercial shipping and civilian crew members must not be targeted.
"India condemns such attacks and reiterates that targeting commercial shipping and endangering innocent civilian crew members, or otherwise impeding freedom of navigation and commerce, is deplorable and should be avoided," the statement added.
The ministry did not immediately provide further details about the circumstances of the attack or identify those responsible.
