271 sued over attack on Ctg police during raid to arrest top criminal 'Boga'
Five to six police personnel were injured in the clash.
Police have filed a case against 271 people over an attack on law enforcers during a raid to arrest listed criminal Waqil Hossain alias Boga in Chattogram's Khulshi.
The case was filed with Khulshi Police Station yesterday (4 September), naming 21 people and 200-250 unidentified individuals, confirmed Officer-in-Charge Mohammad Abdur Rahim.
The accused have been charged with obstructing police operations, vandalising a police vehicle, attacking police personnel, holding an illegal assembly, vandalism, and threatening and intimidating police officers, the OC said.

The 21 named accused include Boga and his associates. The OC could not immediately provide the full list of named accused.
"Boga led the incident. The main objective was to obstruct the police operation," Abdur Rahim said.
Earlier yesterday, Khulshi police launched an operation in the Wireless More and Pahartali areas to arrest Boga. Police said his followers blocked their way and hurled bricks, stones and bottles at them. They also allegedly threw a cocktail-like explosive during the confrontation.
Five to six police personnel, including the Khulshi police OC, were injured in the attack.
Police fired three to four sound grenades and rubber bullets to control the situation and defend themselves, according to police.
After the confrontation, police searched nearby alleys and Boga's residence as part of the operation. They said they found a hidden tunnel or escape route at the house and that Boga fled through it with the assistance of family members.
Police said Boga had allegedly threatened and intimidated police officials several times through audio calls.
Boga, a former joint convener of the Chattogram city unit of Jubo Dal, has at least 17 cases against him, according to police. The cases include allegations related to extortion, drugs, land grabbing and explosives.
Police said yesterday's operation was launched based on those cases and other allegations against him.
Although Boga could not be arrested due to resistance from his followers, police said efforts to identify and arrest those involved in the attack are continuing.
