PM meets families of 2 army personnel killed in Ctg tank firing accident
The prime minister expressed his condolences to the bereaved families and assured them that the government and the army would continue to stand by them.
Prime Minister Tarique Rahman today (15 September) met the families of two army personnel killed in a shell explosion during tank firing at the Hathazari Field Firing Range in Chattogram and handed over financial assistance to them.
The meeting was held at the Prime Minister's Office in Tejgaon this morning.
The prime minister expressed his condolences to the bereaved families and assured them that the government and the army would continue to stand by them.

Also present were prime minister's wife Dr Zubaida Rahman, Chief of Army Staff General Waker-Uz-Zaman and senior military officials.
"Our army personnel gave their lives while discharging their duties for the country. They were martyred for the country. The nation will remember their sacrifice with deep respect," the prime minister said.
Addressing the families, Tarique Rahman said, "We are by your side and will remain by your side during this time of grief. The government and the army will always stand by your families."
"Besides providing necessary cooperation, the government will fulfil its responsibility in taking care of the families of the martyred army personnel," he added.
The prime minister later handed over financial assistance cheques to the families of the two personnel.
An initiative will also be taken by the army to build a house for each family at their permanent addresses. Employment arrangements for their wives and monthly allowances for their children were also announced.
The two army personnel were killed in the shell explosion during tank firing at the Hathazari Field Firing Range on 9 September. They were Soldier (Operator) Abu Bakar Siddique and Soldier (Gunner) Md Tasnim Rifayat.
Abu Bakar Siddique's family was represented at the meeting by his wife Suraiya Akhtar Juti, infant daughter Fatema Siddiqua, father Abdul Wahab and mother Parveen Akhtar.
Md Tasnim Rifayat's family was represented by his wife Mst Fahmida Afrin, infant daughter Rafsa Tasnim Ifra and father Md Asadul Huq.
