US confirms weapons in space as Russia and China expand capabilities
The United States has publicly confirmed the deployment of "on-orbit space control weapons" for the first time. Air Force Secretary Troy Meink revealed the development as concerns grow over Russia and China's space capabilities. The US is also advancing the Golden Dome missile defence initiative, while the 1967 Outer Space Treaty leaves legal room for conventional weapons in space.
