Comilla University teacher's 13-yr-old son found dead in jungle a day after going missing

The body of a 13-year-old who had gone missing after going out with his friends to take photographs with his mother's iPhone was recovered from a jungle in Cumilla's Kotbari area today (19 September).
Police recovered Apratim's body, the only child of Nahida Begum, an associate professor in Comilla University's Department of Bangla, from a jungle south of South Mor, a day after he went missing.

Police said Apratim had sustained severe injuries to his head.
Apratim was a seventh-grader at Border Guard Public School.
According to family members, Apratim left his home in Ward No 24 under Cumilla Sadar Dakshin Police Station at around 3:30pm yesterday, carrying his mother's iPhone to take photographs with his friends.
He did not return home afterwards. After searching for him in several places, his father, KM Firoz Shahriar, filed a general diary (GD) at the police station that evening.
Police and family members had been searching for Apratim since he went missing. Police were also reviewing CCTV footage from areas around Comilla University and examining his last known location.
Cumilla Sadar Dakshin Model Police Station Officer-in-Charge Rakibul Islam said, "There are signs of severe injuries to his head. The incident is being investigated."
Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding his death and seeking to determine who may have been involved.
