Trump’s “Economic D-Day” targets Iran’s oil, gold, shipping and global partners
The United States has launched Operation Economic Outcast, a sweeping new campaign aimed at isolating Iran and cutting off its economic lifelines. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent has called it an "economic D-Day", as Washington targets Iran's digital assets, technology, gold, aviation and shipping networks. With nearly 60 entities, individuals and vessels blacklisted, President Donald Trump is also expected to urge world leaders to cut ties with Tehran. Iran says it is prepared to fight back, as tensions over the Strait of Hormuz push oil prices higher and fuel costs rise worldwide.
