Ex-MP MA Awal arrested in fraud case
Alongside Awal, another accused in the case, Haveli Property Development’s Accounts Officer Nabokumar, was also arrested
The Kalabagan police have arrested former Lakshmipur-1 MP MA Awal in connection with a fraud case.
Awal, also the managing director of Haveli Property Development, was apprehended from his office in Kalabagan's Sultana Tower, around 5pm today (25 September), Muhammad Talebur Rahman, deputy commissioner (DC) of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) (media and public relations) confirmed the matter in a press statement.
"He was arrested following a court order issued today after a fraud case was filed with Kalabagan Police Station against him and several others.

"Alongside Awal, another accused in the case, Haveli Property Development's Accounts Officer Nabokumar, was also arrested," the DC added.
Awal, also the former secretary general of Bangladesh Tarikat Federation, was elected lawmaker of Laxmipur-1 constituency in 5 January 2014.
