A total of 2,01,461 freedom fighters are now getting honorarium

Liberation War Affairs Minister AKM Mozammel Haque has said the final list of the freedom fighters will be published on March 26 next.

"We are collecting lists from field level and scrutinizing it. The ministry will publish it on the upcoming Independence Day," the minister made the remark at a press conference at the ministry today.

A total of 2,01,461 freedom fighters are now getting honorarium from the government. But 2,51,285 more people claim themselves as freedom fighters, the minister added.

"We will examine and cross check the list by March 2020. But the total number will not be more than 2,10,000," the minister said further.
