Aslamul Haque founder and chairman of the Maisha Group was elected Member of Parliament from Bangladesh Awami League in 2009, 2014 and 2018.

Awami League lawmaker Aslamul Haque, Member of Parliament from the Dhaka-14 constituency, has passed away. He was 60.

He died at Square hospital in the capital at around 12 noon on Sunday.

Aslamul was undergoing treatment there after he suffered a cardiac arrest.

Aslamul Haque founder and chairman of the Maisha Group was elected Member of Parliament from Bangladesh Awami League in 2009, 2014 and 2018.

Haque's ancestral home is in Mirpur area of Dhaka. His father's name is Haji Md Enamul Haque Munshi and his mother's name is Firoza Haque. 

He holds a master's degree from the National University.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has expressed deep grief and sorrow over the death of MP Aslamul Haque.

The PM prayed for the forgiveness of the soul of the deceased and conveyed her deepest condolences to the bereaved family members.
