Senior SC lawyer Abdur Razzaq passes away
He died at 4:10pm while undergoing treatment at Ibn Sina Hospital in Dhanmondi

Senior lawyer of the Supreme Court and former assistant secretary general of Jamaat-e-Islami, Barrister Abdur Razzaq, died today (4 May) at a private hospital in Dhaka.
"He died at 4:10pm while undergoing treatment at Ibn Sina Hospital in Dhanmondi," Razzaq's junior associate advocate Shishir Manir told The Business Standard.
"Barrister Razzaq had been admitted to the hospital on 21 April, and was later moved to the ICU as his condition deteriorated," he added.
Razzaq returned to Bangladesh on 26 December last year after spending 11 years in the United Kingdom.
Upon his return, he resumed his legal practice at the SC.
During the previous Awami League government, Barrister Razzaq served as the lead defence counsel for Jamaat leaders tried at the International Crimes Tribunal for crimes against humanity committed during the 1971 Liberation War.
In 2013, following the execution of Jamaat leader Abdul Quader Molla, Razzaq left for the UK on 17 December that year.
He previously held the position of assistant secretary general of Jamaat before resigning from the party.
Later, he became the chief adviser of the Amar Bangladesh (AB) Party but stepped down from that role in September last year.
