To celebrate the Global Entrepreneurship Week, The American Center, Dhaka has been organising a series of virtual programmes highlighting experience sharing, industry insights and how to start and transform startups during the pandemic.

During the session titled 'Impact of Covid-19 on Entrepreneurship', panelist Salma Adil presented an insightful overview of global brand marketing communication industry during the pandemic and impact of Covid-19 on local industry as well.

While speaking about her own organisation, being a finance expert, she emphasised the need for wellbeing of people and maintaining contingency plan for keeping the operations lively even during the pandemic.

"We have been in this business for 12 years; it is our people who contributed to our growth and sustainability.  Even though we have sustained major impact as our clients suffered during shutdown, we feel committed to keep our family intact and invest in capacity enhancement of our people to cope with the new normal situation as the industry demands," she added.

In her address, Namira Hossain stressed the importance of agility and adaptation that are the key to success during the Covid-19 pandemic.

"Even though we lost our large-scale order for events and parties, there has been a rising demand for big order.  Also, our customer would avoid cash transaction while receiving the deliveries. As a result, we had to bring innovations in our products and introduce cashless payment system," she said.

The session ended with a question and answer session where both the panelists answered to the queries of the participants and put their suggestions to young entrepreneurs.
