Covid-19: One death, 26 new cases reported in 24hrs
Chattogram reports 9 new Covid cases in a single day

Bangladesh reported one death and 26 new Covid-19 cases in 24 hours till Sunday morning (15 June), according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
With the latest figures, the death toll has risen to 29,503 and the total number of confirmed cases in the country has reached 20,51,833.
A total of 291 samples were tested during the latest reporting period of 24 hours (between 8am Saturday and 8am Sunday), resulting in a daily positivity rate of 8.93%.
The overall positivity rate stands at 13.05% till now, while the fatality rate based on detected cases remains at 1.44%.
Meanwhile, the number of people who have recovered from Covid-19 in the country now stands at 20,19,410.
Chattogram reports 9 new Covid cases in a single day
Chattogram has recorded nine new Covid-19 cases in a single day today — the highest daily count since the recent resurgence of the virus began, according to official data.
The information was confirmed in a report issued by the Chattogram Civil Surgeon's Office in the evening.
Civil Surgeon Dr Jahangir Alam Chowdhury said that samples from 150 individuals were tested in four private laboratories in the city, and nine tested positive for the coronavirus.
Of the newly infected, seven are residents of Chattogram city. One patient is from Patiya upazila in Chattogram district, and another hails from Companiganj in Noakhali district.
With these new cases, the official Covid-19 tally in Chattogram has risen to 18 in just one week, of whom 15 are city residents. Of the total infected, six patients have been admitted to the hospitals in the city.
Health officials have urged residents to remain cautious and follow safety guidelines to prevent further spread.
