Prime Bank, JUST host seminar on financial inclusion for youth

Prime Bank PLC, in collaboration with Jashore University of Science and Technology (JUST) and its Career Club, recently organised a seminar titled "Financial Inclusion: Engaging & Inspiring Youth in Banking" at the university campus.
Held under the banner of PrimeAcademia — Prime Bank's flagship campus initiative offering one-stop banking solutions for academic institutions — the event brought together over 200 students from diverse academic backgrounds to promote financial literacy, responsible money management, and career opportunities in the banking and financial services sector.
Md Iqbal Mohsin, Director of the Financial Inclusion Department at the Bangladesh Bank, delivered the keynote address, emphasizing the connection between financial literacy, youth empowerment, and national financial inclusion strategies aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
A highlight of the event was the launch of the Prime Youth Account, a student-centric banking solution encouraging early financial responsibility. On-the-spot account opening facilities allowed participants to experience modern banking services firsthand.
Professor Dr Abdul Mazid, Vice Chancellor of JUST, attended as the chief guest. Other speakers included Shaila Abedin, SEVP and head of liability, and M M Mahbub Hasan, SVP and head of financial inclusion and school banking at Prime Bank. Dr Rafiul Hasan, Director of the Office of Student Counselling and Guidance at JUST, inaugurated the programme.
Prime Bank representatives reiterated the bank's commitment to inclusive growth through innovation and youth-focused services. Both Prime Bank and JUST expressed interest in expanding collaboration on student-focused initiatives, research, and skill development programmes.
As part of the Prime Academia initiative, Prime Bank offers academic institutions a range of integrated services, including institutional banking, fee collection systems, payroll services, school banking, and customised student accounts.
