Lakshmipur health camp offers free treatment, medicine
A free health camp was held in Lakshmipur on Friday, providing medical consultation, tests and medicines to more than 300 patients.
The camp was held from 10am to 5pm at a primary school adjacent to Bottoli Madrasa in Dattapara, Lakshmipur.
Ex-Notre Damians' Welfare Foundation organised the camp for marginalised patients, with support from Rejuva Wellness and Probe Diagnostic.
Patients received consultations for rheumatic pain, paralysis, sports injuries, heart disease, medicine, diabetes, abdominal problems and public health-related issues.
Former students of Notre Dame College, including specialist physicians, along with other doctors, provided medical services at the camp. Patients from different areas of Lakshmipur visited the camp throughout the day and thanked the organisers for standing beside them.
Doctors listened to patients' problems, examined them and provided prescriptions. Emergency medicines were distributed free of cost, while necessary blood tests and ECGs were offered at government-set rates.
The doctors who provided treatment included National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases Assistant Registrar and cardiology and medicine specialist Dr Shakil Arif Chowdhury, who is also executive president of the foundation; diabetes specialist Dr Md Abdul Halim; pain and sports injury specialist Dr Dalilur Rahman, also general secretary of the foundation; physiotherapy and pain specialist Dr Mizanur Rahman; Dr Ali Haider; and Dr Monayem Khan Raju.
Local organisers Atikur Rahman and Fazlur Rahman, along with a group of volunteer students from Bottoli Madrasa, coordinated the camp on behalf of the foundation.
Medical Technologist Masud Rana, DMF Rafiul Islam, Bidyut Chandra Das and local medicine seller Shahadat Hossain assisted with diagnostic services and medicine distribution on behalf of Rejuva Wellness and Probe Diagnostic.
