UAP holds freshers’ reception for Spring 2025

The University of Asia Pacific (UAP) warmly welcomed its newly admitted students of the Spring 2025 semester through a freshers' reception held on Saturday at the UAP Plaza.
The orientation programme aimed to introduce students to UAP's academic environment, core values, and available support services. Architect Mahbuba Haque, Chairperson of the Board of Trustees (BoT), and Ms Tashmeem Shayera Moyeen, Senior Vice Chairperson of the BoT, attended as chief guests in two separate sessions. UAP Vice Chancellor Professor Dr Qumrul Ahsan presided over the event.
Addressing the new students, Architect Mahbuba Haque encouraged them to pursue their university journey with purpose, stating, "University is where you discover yourself and your purpose." Ms Tashmeem Shayera Moyeen emphasised the importance of discipline and empathy, urging students to become responsible global citizens.
In his welcome speech, Vice Chancellor Professor Dr Qumrul Ahsan said, "UAP is committed to providing a quality, student-centric education that will support your personal and academic growth."
Special guests included Professor Dr Mohammad Kaykobad, who spoke on the value of lifelong learning, and Mr Kamran Bakr, who inspired students to dream big while upholding integrity. Other speakers included Professor Dr Mohiuddin Ahmed Bhuiyan, Professor Dr Abu Sayeed Moshtaque Ahmed, Professor Dr G R Ahmed Jamal, Professor Dr M A Baqui Khalily, Professor Dr Aloke Kumar Saha, and Dr A S M Mohsin.
Registrar Brigadier General (Retd) Professor Dr AKM Nazrul Islam delivered the opening address. Four UAP alumni also shared their personal success stories with the incoming students. The event concluded with an interactive session involving the parents and guardians of the freshers.
The programme was attended by BoT members Dr M Alauddin and Alhaj Abdul Malek Mollah, along with UAP faculty, administrative staff, students, and guardians—marking a memorable beginning to the Spring 2025 semester.
