University of Asia Pacific holds 11th Convocation

The University of Asia Pacific (UAP) held its 11th Convocation Ceremony on 26 July 2025 at Senaprangon, Dhaka Cantonment, celebrating the academic achievements of its graduating students. Guided by the motto "Committed to Excellence", the event reflected the university's continued dedication to academic distinction and global engagement.
Professor Dr Bidhan Ranjan Roy Podder, Honourable Advisor to the Ministry of Primary and Mass Education, attended the ceremony as the Chief Guest and conferred degrees on behalf of the Chancellor. Former Malaysian Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir bin Mohamad addressed the graduates via a special video message. Professor Dr S M A Faiz, Chairman of the University Grants Commission (UGC), was present as the Special Guest, while Engineer Mohammad Enayetur Rahman, CEO and President of Ulkasemi Pvt Ltd, delivered the Convocation Speech.
In his speech, Dr Bidhan Ranjan Roy Podder encouraged graduates to contribute to national development and uphold the values of excellence and integrity instilled by UAP. Architect Mahbuba Haque, Chairperson of UAP's Board of Trustees, urged students to pursue their goals with determination and resilience.
Vice Chancellor Professor Dr Qumrul Ahsan highlighted the university's expanding academic collaborations both locally and internationally and encouraged the graduates to move forward with confidence and ambition.
Engineer Enayetur Rahman commended UAP for fostering ethical and visionary leadership, while Tun Dr Mahathir praised the institution's international partnerships, particularly with Malaysia.
A total of 1,975 students received their degrees at the convocation, including 1,273 undergraduate and 702 postgraduate students. Three graduates were awarded the Chancellor's Gold Medals, while 18 received the Vice-Chancellor's Gold Medals for outstanding academic performance.
Professor Dr Mohiuddin Ahmed Bhuiyan, Adviser to the Vice Chancellor, delivered the welcome speech. Brigadier General (Retd) Professor Dr A K M Nazrul Islam served as the Marshal of the convocation.
