UAP and DU host international conference on business and technology

The School of Business at UAP, the Faculty of Business Studies at DU, and Weiden Business School, in collaboration with the Institute of Psychological and Behavioural Science, Germany, have jointly organised the International Conference on Business and Technology (ICBT) 2025.
The two-day conference will be held on 20 September at UAP and 21 September at DU, focusing on the theme "The Vital Interplay between Business and Technology in Achieving Sustainable Development." Approximately 250 participants from around the world will present over 100 research papers, along with 10 keynote addresses, interactive sessions, and panel discussions.
The energy in the UAP Auditorium was palpable as the ICBT conference began today. Dr Wahiduddin Mahmud, Adviser for Planning to the interim government and chief guest, shared his vision: "Conferences like the ICBT provide an essential platform for academics, professionals, and policymakers to converge and contribute to the nation's sustainable development agenda."
Among the special guests were Architect Mahbuba Haque, Chairperson of the UAP Board of Trustees; Professor Dr Qumrul Ahsan, Vice-Chancellor of UAP; and Professor Dr Mamun Ahmed, Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Academic) of DU.
The conference began with energising opening remarks from Professor Dr M A Baqui Khalily (UAP), Dr Christiane Hellbach (OTH Amberg-Weiden), and Professor Dr Mahmood Osman Imam (DU). Attendees listened intently as keynote speaker Professor Dr S R Osmani of Ulster University, UK, shared inspiring insights on how business and technology converge to drive sustainable progress.
Institutional collaboration was emphasised by Professor Mamun Ahmed. UAP's commitment to global engagement was reiterated by Architect Mahbuba Haque, while Professor Qumrul Ahsan underlined the university's aim to advance research by forming partnerships.
With commemorative crests presented to honoured guests, the session concluded. Sarwar Razzaq Chowdhury, Head of the Department of Business Administration at UAP, then offered a vote of thanks.
