UAP foundation elects new leadership for 2026–27 term
K M Mozibul Hoque has been elected chairman of the board of governors of the University of Asia Pacific Foundation and chairman of the University of Asia Pacific board of trustees for the 2026–27 term.
He was unanimously elected at the 23rd annual general meeting of the University of Asia Pacific Foundation.
Born into a respected Muslim family in Muradnagar of Cumilla district, K M Mozibul Hoque has played a notable role over the years in education, development, international engagement and the corporate sector.
He was recognised as a commercially important person (CIP) by the government of Bangladesh for 12 consecutive years from 1989 to 2000. His leadership career includes serving as national president of JCI Bangladesh in 1992 and world vice president of JCI International in 1993, with responsibility for Eastern Europe, the CIS and the Baltic states. He also served as regional director (South Asia) of FER, the world's largest UN peace programme, in 1986.
In addition, he has served as vice-chairman of the Bangladesh Jute Spinners Association and as president and dean of the Consular Corps Bangladesh from 2018 to 2020.
Currently, K M Mozibul Hoque is serving as honorary consul general of the Republic of Yemen in Bangladesh. He is also chairman of TAS Aviation Group, Shah Group and Bakkah Holding.
Other members elected to the UAP Foundation and the UAP board of trustees for the 2026–27 term include Alamzeb Farzad Ahmed, Alhaj Abdul Malek Mollah, Zaki Alam and architect Mahbuba Haque.
