The price of a 12kg LPG cylinder has been raised by Tk50 to Tk1,356 for February
The price of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) has been increased again at the consumer level, adding further pressure on household energy costs.
The price of a 12kg LPG cylinder has been raised by Tk50 to Tk1,356 for February, according to a statement issued by the Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission (BERC).
The new price comes into effect from 6pm today (2 February).
The last adjustment was made on 4 January, when BERC increased the price of a 12kg cylinder by Tk53, setting it at Tk1,306.
Alongside LPG, the price of autogas has also been revised upward. For February, autogas prices have been increased by Tk2.34 per litre to Tk62.14, inclusive of VAT. Previously, on 4 January, autogas prices were raised by Tk2.48 per litre, fixing the rate at Tk59.80 per litre including VAT.
BERC adjusts LPG and autogas prices on a monthly basis, primarily reflecting changes in international market prices and exchange rate movements.
