One dengue patients died in the past 24 hours till this morning (29 June), raising the total number of fatalities from the mosquito-borne disease this year to 42.

Among the 383 new patients, 136 are from Barishal division, 55 from Chattogram division, 48 from Dhaka division, 41 from Khulna division, 10 from Mymensingh division and 33 from Rajshahi division –all outside the respective city corporation areas.

In the capital, 32 new patients were from Dhaka North City Corporation and 28 from Dhaka South.
During the 24 hour-period, 349 dengue patients have been discharged from hospitals, taking the tally of recovery this year to 8,729.
The total number of dengue cases in the country this year now stands at 9,867.
In 2024, dengue claimed the lives of 575 people across the country. There were 1,01,214 dengue cases and 1,00,040 recoveries in the year, DGHS data shows.
