BADC wins first prize at national fruit fair 2025

Bangladesh Agricultural Development Corporation (BADC) jointly secured first prize in the best stall category (government institution segment) at the National Fruit Fair 2025, organised by the Ministry of Agriculture. Dr Md Isbat, General Manager (Horticulture) of BADC, received the award on behalf of the organisation from Dr Mohammad Emdad Ullah Mian, Secretary of the Ministry of Agriculture, during the closing ceremony.

BADC's stall showcased 76 varieties of fruits and agricultural technologies, including around 50 local fruit varieties. The display attracted significant attention from visitors, including Agricultural Adviser Lieutenant General (Retd) Md Jahangir Alam Chowdhury, Agriculture Secretary Dr Mohammad Emdad Ullah Mian, and BADC Chairman (Grade-1) Md Ruhul Amin Khan.

The fair was held from 19 to 21 June 2025 at the premises of the Krishibid Institute, Khamarbari, Dhaka. A total of 75 organisations participated, comprising 26 government entities and 49 private sector participants. Simultaneous fruit fairs were also organised across 431 upazilas in all 64 districts of the country.

This year's theme was: "Let's eat more local fruits, let's plant fruit trees."
