3 leaders of AL, affiliated bodies arrested in Dhaka over attempt to incite unrest

The Detective Branch (DB) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has arrested three leaders of the Awami League and its affiliated bodies in separate drives across the capital for allegedly attempting to create unrest through sudden street processions.
The arrestees are Abdul Matin Master, 52, member secretary of Dhaka South unit of Krishak League; Mostak Fakir alias Bagha, 38, vice-president of Jubo League's Ward-71 unit; and Haji Alauddin, vice-president of Keraniganj Model Thana unit of the Awami League.
According to DB sources, Abdul Matin Master was detained in a drive conducted in the Matuail area last night, while Mostak Fakir was arrested today (23 April) in another drive by a separate DB-Wari team.
Meanwhile, DB-Lalbagh division arrested Haji Alauddin during a raid in the Chawkbazar area last night.
Deputy Commissioner of DMP, Muhammad Talebur Rahman, said, "The arrested individuals are accused of attempting to destabilise various areas of the capital by organising sudden processions in a coordinated manner."
"Legal proceedings against the detainees are currently underway," he added.
