Equity indices of both the stock exchanges jumped during the first hour of the trading session as the government decided to keep the business sectors out of lockdown purview from today.

DSEX, the key index of the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), increased 1.06% or 57.79 points to 5,492 till 11 am.

DSE turnover, a major market indicator, rose by 26% to Tk470.44 crore in the corresponding period.

Meanwhile, Beximco Limited secured the apex position on the DSE turnover chart till filing this report.

During this period, DSE had 214 gainers against 64 losers, while prices of 62 scrips remained unchanged.

The benchmark index CASPI at the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) jumped by 133 points to 15,857 till 11 am.
