UIU holds seminar on ‘AI for Business Excellence’
United International University (UIU) organised a seminar titled "AI for Business Excellence" on Saturday, 7 February 2026, at its campus in United City, Madani Avenue, Dhaka.
UIU Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Md Abul Kashem Mia attended the event as chief guest. The keynote speakers were Professor Dr Hasan Sarwar, Dean of the School of Science and Engineering, and Professor Dr Khondaker Abdullah Al Mamun, Director of the MSCSE programme and the IRIIC. Professor Emeritus Dr M Rizwan Khan, Executive Director of IAR at UIU, delivered the vote of thanks.
In his remarks, Professor Kashem Mia noted that the use of artificial intelligence is on the rise across most sectors and has become crucial in numerous fields. He emphasised the need for stronger collaboration between academia and industry to enable effective utilisation of AI.
The keynote speakers highlighted how AI-driven technologies are influencing decision-making, management efficiency, customer engagement, and strategic planning. They discussed practical applications of AI in data analytics, automation, marketing intelligence, supply chain optimisation, and financial forecasting.
The seminar also covered emerging AI trends, policy considerations, human resource management, and the skills required to harness AI for sustainable business growth. Speakers stated that AI integration in education and the corporate sector is essential for competitiveness in the Fourth Industrial Revolution.
Faculty members, students, academics, industry experts, officials, journalists, and other guests attended the event.
