Md Reaz Uddin new MD, CEO of Summit Meghnaghat power plants

Summit Group appointed Md Reaz Uddin as managing director and chief executive officer of Summit Meghnaghat I Power Company Limited and Summit Meghnaghat II Power Company Limited.
Summit Meghnaghat I is a joint venture involving Taiyo Life Insurance (Japan), JERA (Japan), and Summit, while Summit Meghnaghat II is a collaboration between GE (USA), JERA (Japan), and Summit, according to a press release.
Reaz Uddin, a valued member of Summit since 2011, previously served as CEO of Summit Meghnaghat II Power Company Ltd (583 MW Combined Cycle Power Plant) and chief operating officer of both Summit Meghnaghat I Power Company Ltd (337MW Combined Cycle Power Plant) and Summit Bibiyana Power Company Ltd.
He brings over 32 years of experience in power generation, having led high-stakes negotiations, executed large infrastructure projects, and overseen plant operations and maintenance teams.
His leadership has been integral to the development, financing, construction, and operation of power plants exceeding 2,000 MW, and he has played a pivotal role in securing over $1.1 billion in foreign project financing for Bangladesh.
Graduating in 1992 with a Chemical Engineering degree from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (Buet), he began his career at Kafco, a multinational fertiliser company. In 2000, he joined AES, a US-based power company pioneering combined cycle power plants in Bangladesh's independent power producer (IPP) sector.
