PM education trust stipends to be disbursed through Nagad
The Prime Minister's Education Assistance Trust is now registering students for stipend payments through Nagad to make the process faster and easier nationwide.
Stipends will be awarded to students newly admitted to Class VI in schools and madrasas who are enrolling for the 2026 academic year, as well as to those entering Class XI and first-year Alim for the 2025–26 academic session.
To register, institutions should log into https://hsp.pmeat.gov.bd/login, use their credentials, select 'Primary Selection,' and enter new student information under 'New Student Entry.
Institutions must enter, verify, and save each student's address and socioeconomic details. Registration closes on 7 May.
The SIM card and Nagad account must be registered with the guardian parent's national ID. The account must be in the guardian's name.
Nagad has successfully distributed stipends for the Trust in the past.
Md Shamsul Islam, chief corporate affairs officer, said Nagad also distributes other government allowances.
He added that, because of this record, Nagad will stay a top choice for stipend payments from the Trust.
He said Nagad is trusted nationwide because it is easy to use.
In FY2024–25, Tk9,000 crore in allowances were disbursed through Nagad, with an increase expected this year.
Beneficiaries choose Nagad for its broad cash-out coverage and low charges.
