BTA holds AGM to review tea industry activities
Bangladesh Tea Association (BTA), the apex body representing tea estate owners in the country, held its 65th Annual General Meeting (AGM) at its Dhaka office on 10 June 2026.
The 65th Annual General Meeting commenced at 11:30am, presided over by BTA Chairman Kamran T Rahman.
Attending the AGM were Vice-Chairman Nihad Kabir, members of the Central Executive Committee—including Mirza Salman Ispahani, Md Mustafizur Rahman, Tahsin Ahmed Choudhury, M Zahirul Islam, Asif Moyeen, HSM Ziaul Ahsan, Sajid Abdullah Choudhury and Manzoor Elahi—and owners and representatives from various member tea companies and estates.
Kamran T Rahman presented the association's report on the committee's major activities for 2024-25.
The meeting approved the association's accounts for the 2024-25 financial year.
The meeting appointed auditors to examine the association's accounts for 2025-26.
Kamran T Rahman expressed appreciation to the Ministry of Commerce, the Ministry of Finance, various government ministries and departments, Bangladesh Bank, Bangladesh Tea Board, Bangladesh Krishi Bank, and the divisional and district administrations and law enforcement agencies of Chattogram and Sylhet for their continued support for the development of the tea industry.
He also thanked the Executive Committee, subcommittee members and association members for their support and guidance during his tenure as chair. He expressed hope that the committee would address the tea industry's unresolved issues in the coming year.
