NSU inaugurates new campus site development work

North South University (NSU) has inaugurated the development works of its new campus at Pubachal of Rupganj Upazila in Narayanganj district today (Tuesday).
Spanning more than 100 acres of land, this ambitious project marks a significant milestone in the university's journey toward expanding its academic and infrastructural capacities.
The inauguration ceremony began with a special Dua and Munajat, followed by the formal commencement of the boundary wall construction work.
The new campus is expected to accommodate up to 50,000 students simultaneously, with residential facilities for half of them. The university plans to build state-of-the-art academic buildings, modern residential halls, sports grounds, green spaces, advanced cafeterias, libraries, and research centres.
Addressing as session chair, NSU Vice-Chancellor Professor Abdul Hannan Chowdhury said, "This is a moment of great joy for us. After overcoming numerous challenges, we finally started working on this visionary project."
He added, "On this special day, I would like to pay tribute to the late founding member and former Chairman of the NSU Board of Trustees, along with the other visionaries behind NSU. We aim to realise their dreams by building a world-class university campus."
NSU's Project Director, Engineer Mushtaq Habib, moderated the event. He said, "Since 2016, we have been dreaming of this new campus. We are committed to providing a world-class academic environment for our students."
Members of the Board of Trustees of North South University, NSU Treasurer and Acting Pro-Vice Chancellor Professor Abdur Rob Khan, Registrar Ahmed Tazmeen, Deans of various schools, faculty members, students, and administrative staff were also present.
