Mitsui & Co. Asia Pacific signs Strategic Partnership with ACI Logistics
Mitsui & Co., Ltd (Mitsui) has agreed to partner with ACI Logistics Limited (ACIL) through a foreign currency-denominated convertible loan, subject to regulatory approvals.
The facility will be provided through Mitsui's Singapore-based subsidiary, Mitsui & Co. (Asia Pacific) Pte Ltd (MAP), according to the companies.
ACIL, a subsidiary of ACI PLC, operates Shwapno, a grocery retail chain in Bangladesh, with more than 836 outlets nationwide, the statement said.
The signing took place on 25 February 2026 at ACI Centre in the presence of Anis Ud Dowla, chairman of ACI PLC; Arif Dowla, managing director of ACI PLC; Sabbir Hasan Nasir, managing director of ACIL; and Kazuhide Nakajo, chief operating officer of the consumer-centric business development unit at MAP, along with senior representatives from ACI and Mitsui.
The companies said Mitsui will support ACIL through capital and broader expertise, including sourcing and operational support. They added that the partnership aims to strengthen operational excellence, governance, supply chain optimisation and sustainable growth at Shwapno.
