IFIC Bank hosts financial literacy workshop

IFIC Bank PLC, in collaboration with the Department of Anthropology at Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST), organised a financial literacy workshop on June 24, 2025, to equip students with practical knowledge in personal finance and support their professional development.
The event took place at the Mini Auditorium of SUST and was presided over by Md Mokhlesur Rahman, Proctor of the university. Khaled Ahmed, Executive Director of Bangladesh Bank's Sylhet Office, attended as the chief guest. Distinguished guests included Dr Mohammad Rafiqul Islam, Head of the Department of Economics; Dr Md Khairul Islam, Head of the Department of Business Administration at SUST; and Md: Rafiqul Islam, Deputy Managing Director and Chief of Branch Business at IFIC Bank.
In their speeches, guests emphasised the importance of financial literacy as a catalyst for sustainable economic growth and encouraged students to actively participate in educational initiatives that foster financial awareness and future readiness.
The workshop was conducted by Fariha Haider, Head of Centralised Retail Marketing at IFIC Bank, who provided students with practical insights into personal financial planning, managing income and expenses, setting financial goals, and navigating the rapidly evolving financial sector. She also emphasised the significance of digital literacy and adaptability in the era of fintech-driven banking.
The initiative is part of IFIC Bank's broader commitment to promoting financial literacy across Bangladesh. The bank regularly conducts awareness programmes throughout the year in both urban and rural areas, including educational institutions, to foster a financially informed and empowered population.
