Grameenphone partners with university of scholars for digital education

Grameenphone, the country's leading telecommunications provider, has announced a strategic partnership with the University of Scholars, aiming to transform connectivity and operational efficiency in the higher education sector.
Under this collaboration, Grameenphone will provide corporate SIMs and ICT solutions to over 500 faculty and staff members, while more than 4,500 students will benefit from exclusive co-branded Skitto SIMs, ensuring seamless digital access throughout their academic journey.
The agreement was signed by S M Zahadul Arafin, Head of Emerging Segment, Grameenphone; Nafees Anwar Choudhury, Head of Skitto; and Md Ariful Hoque Shuhan, Vice Chairman, Board of Trustees, University of Scholars. The signing was held in the presence of Md. Arif Uddin, Chief Risk Officer (CRO) of Grameenphone, alongside senior officials from both organisations.
"This partnership marks a significant step towards integrating technology with academia," said S.M. Zahadul Arafin. "By enabling seamless connectivity and digital tools, we are helping build an ecosystem where students and educators can thrive."
All students will receive their Skitto connections upon admission, which will serve as their primary communication tool throughout their time at the university, from admission to graduation. This initiative ensures uninterrupted access to academic resources, learning materials, and university services.
Faculty and administrative staff will benefit from customised corporate connections, enhancing productivity and institutional efficiency. Meanwhile, Skitto's youth-focused digital services will support the evolving needs of today's learners.
Md. Ariful Hoque Shuhan described the initiative as a milestone in digital education. "This collaboration will empower our students and faculty with uninterrupted connectivity and smart services, paving the way for a more efficient academic environment," he said.
Senior representatives from both organisations were present at the signing ceremony, including H.M. Atif Wafik, Additional Director of Brand and Communication, and Abdullah Al Noman, Executive of Brand and Communications, University of Scholars.
The initiative reflects a shared vision to harness technology for inclusive and connected learning, thereby contributing to Bangladesh's broader digital transformation agenda in education.
