Nagad refunds majority of evaly customers’ deposits

Most Evaly customers' refund money held by Nagad has now been returned following proper procedures.
When Evaly ceased operations in October 2021, more than Tk 17.69 crore of customers' money remained with Nagad. Of this, Tk 12.83 crore has already been refunded to 24,630 customers.
Under government directives, and after completing verification, Nagad refunded Tk 6.14 crore to 1,631 customers in 2023, followed by Tk 6.68 crore to 22,999 customers in 2024. The entire refund process was conducted under the direct supervision of the Ministry of Commerce's technical committee on digital commerce.
Currently, Tk 4.86 crore of Evaly customers' money remains with Nagad. The company has reiterated its readiness to return the remaining funds upon further instructions from the Ministry of Commerce.
Commenting on the development, Nagad's Chief Commercial Officer, Mohummed Shahin Sarwar Bhuiyan, said:
"We have diligently and sincerely fulfilled our responsibility to return the money to Evaly customers awaiting refunds. We maintain close communication with the Ministry of Commerce. We assure that Nagad is always ready to refund the remaining funds kept with its system."
