The decision came on Monday (18 August) through a letter signed by NCP joint secretary (office) Saleh Uddin Sifat.

The National Citizen Party (NCP) has expelled its joint secretary Mahin Sarker citing "serious breaches of party discipline".
The decision came on Monday (18 August) through a letter signed by NCP joint secretary (office) Saleh Uddin Sifat.
The letter stated that, due to serious violations of party discipline, Mahin Sarker has been suspended from his post and responsibilities by the party's Convener Nahid Islam and Secretary Akhtar Hossain, until further notice.
It added that the suspension takes effect immediately and will remain in force until further instructions are issued.
Earlier, it was announced that Mahin will contest the Dhaka University Central Students' Union (Ducsu) election as a candidate for the General Secretary post.
He will run under a panel, recently joined by Sabbir Uddin Rion, former member of the Bangladesh Ganatantrik Chhatra Sangsad (BAGCHAS) Dhaka University branch, who resigned from his position on Monday (18 August).
