EBL promotes financial literacy through campus connect at IUB
Eastern Bank PLC (EBL) organised a seminar titled "EBL Campus Connect: Inspiring New Generation in Banking" at Independent University, Bangladesh (IUB) on 10 November, aiming to promote financial literacy and inspire students to embrace a modern, digital banking future.
The event brought together students, academics, and banking professionals to discuss how young people can drive innovation and digital transformation in Bangladesh's financial sector.
Md Aminul Islam, Senior Lecturer and Club Coordinator of the IUB E-Business Club, delivered the welcome speech, highlighting the importance of financial awareness and emerging career opportunities in banking.
Sarmin Atik, Executive Vice-President and Head of Liability and Wealth Management at EBL, addressed the session, underscoring the bank's commitment to youth-centric banking and financial empowerment.
M Khorshed Anowar, Deputy Managing Director and Head of Retail and SME Banking at EBL, attended as Special Guest and shared insights on the future of banking and the transformative impact of technology.
The programme also featured audiovisual presentations on EBL Corporate and Student Banking, showcasing digital innovations and customised services for students.
In his closing remarks, Professor Daniel W Lund, Pro-Vice-Chancellor of IUB, commended EBL's efforts to engage students and promote financial literacy through interactive initiatives.
During the seminar, EBL introduced "E-volve 2.0", an innovative financial literacy platform tailored for students.
The initiative reflects EBL's ongoing commitment to strengthening partnerships with educational institutions and nurturing a generation of financially aware and digitally empowered young professionals.
