Southeast University hosts Faculty Research Day
The Institute of Research and Training at Southeast University hosted 'Faculty Research Day 2026' on 23 April at the university's multipurpose hall, spotlighting research excellence.
The event celebrated outstanding faculty research for 2025, elevating the profile of high-quality publications and reinforcing the university's vital role in cultivating a dynamic and influential research culture.
Dr Wahiduddin Mahmud, former adviser to the ministries of planning and education, interim government, attended as the chief guest.
Dr Tahmeed Ahmed, executive director, icddr,b, and Dr AK Enamul Haque, director general, Bangladesh Institute of Development Studies, served as distinguished speakers at the event.
They commended the research productivity of Southeast University faculty and the university's support for scholarly activities.
Vice-chancellor Professor Dr Yusuf Mahbubul Islam chaired the session, while pro-vice-chancellor Professor Dr Md Mofazzal Hossain delivered the opening remarks.
Professor Dr Hasnat M Alamgir, director, Institute of Research and Training, delivered the concluding remarks.
The university stated that the event serves as a milestone in strengthening its reputation for institutional quality improvement, student research mentoring, and continued support for faculty in attaining international research distinction.
