DSCC approves retirement benefits plan for permanent staff
The 9th Corporation Meeting of the Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) Management Committee has approved in principle the Dhaka South City Corporation Retired Employees Retirement Allowance and Retirement Benefits Plan 2025 (1432 Bangabandhu) for permanent employees serving in regular posts under the revenue sector.
The meeting, chaired by DSCC Administrator Md Shahjahan Mia, was held on Monday at Nagar Bhaban. A total of 25 members of the management committee, including representatives from various government departments and organisations, participated in the session.
At the outset, the minutes of the 8th Corporation Meeting held on 11 August 2025 were confirmed, followed by a review of the implementation progress report.

The committee decided to send the proposed plan—prepared in accordance with the Pension Simplification Order for Government Employees in the Case of Retirement Pension and Gratuity 2020 and the Employee Service Rules of Dhaka South City Corporation 2019—to the Local Government Division for final approval.
The meeting also approved 127 road projects worth Tk148 crore across 75 wards under the DSCC for the 2025–26 fiscal year.
In addition, it was decided to draft a policy introducing a one-time retirement grant of Tk4 lakh for DSCC cleaners, Tk10,000 for burial or reception in case of death during service, and a one-time grant of Tk3 lakh to the families of deceased employees.
Addressing the meeting, Administrator Md Shahjahan Mia said, "Due to prolonged rainfall, road repairs have been delayed. As rainwater prevents sustainable maintenance, DSCC will now prioritise urgent repairs to ease public suffering."
Dhaka South City Corporation Chief Executive Officer Md Zahirul Islam, Secretary Muhammad Shafiqul Islam, and departmental heads were also present.
