City Bank reports rise in half-yearly profit

City Bank organised its Earnings Disclosure webcast event to present its Q2 2025 financial performance.
The event, held digitally on July 31, 2025, attracted existing & potential investors, researchers, analysts, and other individuals involved in capital market activities platforms from across the globe.
The bank's Consolidated Earnings Per Share (EPS) was BDT 2.23 for the half year ended June 2025. This compares to BDT 1.85 during the same period last year. The bank also reported a Consolidated Profit after Tax of BDT 301.11 crore for the half-year, up from BDT 249.51 crore in the previous year.
The event opened with a financial performance presentation for Q2, 2025 by Md. Mahbubur Rahman, Acting Managing Director and CFO. He also discussed current and future strategies. Mesbaul Asif Siddiqui, DMD and Head of Wholesale Banking; AKM Saif Ullah Kowchar, DMD and Head of Internal Control and Compliance; and Mohammad Firoz Alam, Chief Risk Officer, were also present. A lively Q&A session followed, during which participants shared their views and queries, which the management addressed.
