British Columbia School celebrates two decades of academic journey
British Columbia School marked its 20th anniversary on Tuesday alongside the inauguration of its new Junior Campus, celebrating two decades of academic legacy and institutional growth.
The commemorative programme was attended by Abdullah Al Mamun, Regional Development Manager – Bangladesh, Pearson Edexcel, and Tahnee Yeasmin, Director of Business Development, British Council Bangladesh, reflecting the school's engagement with international academic partners.
The event began with the national anthem, followed by cultural performances by students, including poem recitations, songs and dance presentations. Notably, several performances were delivered by the school's youngest learners, drawing appreciation from parents and guests.
Addressing the audience, Principal Lisa Saha said the school places strong emphasis on early childhood development through a holistic approach that nurtures emotional resilience, confidence and individual strengths from an early age.
Chairman Quazi Rafquat Hossain outlined the institution's long-term vision, describing a "PG to PG journey" — from Playgroup to Postgraduate — supported through mentoring, career guidance and collaborations with international organisations and universities.
The programme concluded with remarks by Faizul Alam, who highlighted the importance of early education in shaping cognitive development, character and lifelong learning.
The celebration reflected both the school's achievements over the past two decades and its vision to prepare future-ready learners.
