Huawei honours mobile tower riggers with EHS Family Day
Huawei has organised Rigger EHS Family Day 2025 to recognise the contribution of riggers involved in mobile tower installation and to promote environment, health and safety (EHS) awareness across the telecommunications sector.
The event was held at Huawei's South Asia headquarters in Dhaka and was attended by riggers along with their family members. Chief executive officers and general managers of contracting companies engaged in mobile infrastructure development, as well as other distinguished guests, were also present.
Chen Hengzhou, Director of Huawei South Asia Delivery Management Department, attended the programme. Speakers included Md Lutfur Rahman Sajib, Manager of Huawei's Fieldwork Service Center (FSC), and Parvez Islam, EHS Manager of Huawei.
The speakers emphasised strict compliance with EHS standards and workplace safety regulations, highlighting the critical role of family members in motivating riggers to maintain safety practices. They also stressed the importance of care, mental support and well-being for riggers. Various recreational activities were arranged as part of the programme.
Addressing the gathering, Chen Hengzhou said Huawei considers riggers an integral part of its extended family and that the event aimed to strengthen the link between safety awareness and the emotional support provided by families.
Huawei said the initiative reflects its continued commitment to workforce safety and adherence to EHS standards while supporting the expansion of telecommunications infrastructure in Bangladesh.
