Flydubai flight plunges 17,000 feet after co-pilot allegedly attacks captain
A Flydubai flight from Dubai to Tel Aviv carrying more than 170 people plunged approximately 17,000 feet after an Omani co-pilot allegedly attacked Captain Smit Machchhar inside the cockpit.Passengers intervened after the captain opened the cockpit door, helping restrain the attacker while two reserve pilots took control. The aircraft was eventually landed safely in Saudi Arabia.Captain Machchhar was later airlifted to Abu Dhabi and reported to be in stable condition. UAE authorities are investigating whether the incident was connected to terrorist activity.
