Korean cosmetics expert Junoh Kim joins Coslab as consultant
Korean cosmetics expert Dr Junoh Kim has joined Coslab Personal Care Limited, the manufacturer behind Bangladeshi skincare brand skin'O, as a consultant to strengthen its R&D capabilities.
With more than three decades of experience, Kim will help the company develop advanced formulations, products, and technologies to international standards, according to the press release.
His expertise spans cosmetic formulations and ingredients, advanced delivery systems, nanotechnology and technological innovation. He has held research and leadership positions at Korean beauty companies, including Amorepacific, Intercos Korea, Shinsegae Intercos Korea and Shinsegae International.
Kim began his career at Amorepacific's research and development centre in 1993 and spent about 22 years developing advanced skincare formulations and cosmetic ingredients.
His research has covered nanotechnology, liposomes, polymeric micelles, nanoparticles and transdermal delivery systems, contributing to the development and performance of functional skincare products.
Amorepacific's beauty brands include Innisfree, COSRX, Hera and Laneige, among others.
Kim later served as head of research and development at Intercos Korea's Innovation Centre and head of advanced research and development at Shinsegae Intercos Korea.
From 2020 to 2025, he was senior vice president of Shinsegae International, leading technology strategy, product innovation and advanced research initiatives. He also currently works as a technical adviser.
Kim holds a PhD in polymer engineering from Seoul National University and bachelor's and master's degrees in chemistry from Sogang University. His research and innovation work has resulted in more than 30 international scientific publications and over 60 patents.
For nearly a decade, he has also lectured at universities on cosmetic science, advanced cosmetic ingredients, functional cosmetics, and delivery technologies.
As a consultant, Kim will help develop Coslab's research team as the company aims to build its capabilities to international standards. Coslab expects his experience and technical expertise to support advanced research, innovative formulations and the development of internationally competitive cosmetics in Bangladesh.
The initiative forms part of Coslab's plans to strengthen cosmetics research in Bangladesh and develop products locally using advanced technologies, with a long-term goal of expanding into international markets.
Kim will work with approximately 20 chemists and pharmacists across Coslab Research Centre's offices in Dhaka and Seoul.
Alongside skin'O, Coslab conducts research and manufacturing for several brands, including Innsaei, Daily Bath and Inbeauty.
The company said the appointment would strengthen its research capabilities and help develop Bangladesh's cosmetics and personal care industry.
