BRAC Bank launches ‘prantik’, its in-house agent banking system
BRAC Bank has launched 'PRANTIK', an in-house developed agent banking system designed to deliver seamless, secure banking services to customers in remote areas across the country.
Developed entirely by BRAC Bank's Technology Division, PRANTIK removes dependence on third-party vendors, strengthening the bank's technological self-sufficiency and operational efficiency. The initiative reflects BRAC Bank's continued focus on innovation, digital capability, and financial inclusion.
The state-of-the-art platform features an intuitive interface and enhanced security measures, offering real-time transactions and a full suite of services, including deposits, withdrawals, remittance, loan and EMI payments, utility bill settlement, FDR, DPS, and SME loan disbursement.
Tareq Refat Ullah Khan, Managing Director and CEO of BRAC Bank, inaugurated the platform at the bank's head office on 12 November 2025. The event was attended by Syed Abdul Momen, Additional Managing Director and Head of SME Banking; Md Muniruzzaman Molla, Deputy Managing Director and Head of Operations; Chowdhury Moinul Islam, Deputy Managing Director and CAMLCO; and Nazmur Rahim, Deputy Managing Director and Head of Alternate Banking Channels, along with senior officials from various divisions.
"PRANTIK is a proud milestone in our digital journey—a homegrown innovation that embodies BRAC Bank's spirit of self-reliance and service excellence," Tareq Refat Ullah Khan said. "By developing this platform in-house, we are ensuring that customers in rural and remote areas can access banking services securely, efficiently, and conveniently."
PRANTIK integrates biometric verification and advanced digital features to provide secure 24/7 banking access while maintaining strong compliance and monitoring mechanisms.
The launch marks a significant step in BRAC Bank's digital transformation and sets a new benchmark for secure and inclusive technology-driven banking in Bangladesh.
