Emirates orders 65 more Boeing 777-9s worth $38b at Dubai Airshow 2025
Emirates has placed an order for 65 additional Boeing 777-9 aircraft, worth US$38 billion at list prices, at the Dubai Airshow 2025.
This brings the airline's total order book with Boeing to 315 widebody aircraft, including 270 Boeing 777Xs, 10 Boeing 777 freighters, and 35 Boeing 787s – marking one of the largest long-term commitments to the US aerospace industry.
Over the past four decades, Emirates has operated every model of the Boeing 777 family and currently flies the world's largest 777 fleet. Its existing fleet comprises 119 Boeing 777-300ERs, 10 Boeing 777-200LRs, and 11 Boeing 777 freighters, serving more than 140 destinations across six continents.
The airline will receive Boeing aircraft deliveries through to 2038 as part of this long-horizon partnership, supporting thousands of US manufacturing and engineering jobs involved in producing the 777X and GE9X engines.
The Boeing 777X family is the manufacturer's newest generation of long-haul widebody aircraft. Its two variants include the ultra-long-range 777-8 and the 777-9 – the world's longest passenger aircraft by length. The 777X is also the first commercial aircraft fitted with folding wingtips and offers 10 to 12 per cent lower fuel burn compared to current 777 models.
